After SAP upgrade Security team plays a major role to ensure all the old and new tcodes, authorization objects, profile's and roles are working fine.
Because SAP deliver so many new tcodes and authorization objects, so after upgrade SAP security admin team must update all the above and business will run smoothly.
SAP provided a inbuilt tool(SU25 upgrade tool) for security administrators.
There are six steps involved in it.
1. Initially filling the customer tables
2. Post processing the settings after upgrading to higher release
2a. Preparation: Compare with SAP values
2b. Compare Transaction codes
2c. Roles to be checked
2d. Changed Transaction codes
3. Transport customer Tables
Steps 4 to 6 is required only if you're using lower than 4.6C version
4. Check indicator(SU24) Changes
5. Deactivate authorization objects globally
6. Copy data from old profiles
