SAP ECC 6.0 Installation Step by Step

Here i have given SAP ECC 6.0(IDES) installation steps with screen shots in Windows 2003 server environment.
Make sure the following steps are completed before starting your SAP installation.
  1. Operating system installation and partitioning as per SAP standards
  2. Install JDK 1.4 minimum or above
  3. Set environment variables for JAVA_HOME
  4. Install database as per your requirement( i installed Oracle here)
  5. Copy all the SAP DVD's to local disk

Run "sapinst.exe" file from "installation master dvd" as shown below.
Expand the tree structure and select "central system installation" under "SAP ERP 2005 support release 2"

 Click "Start" and you will be asked to select installation type Typical/Custom, Here i selected typical
 You will be asked to select installation software like AS ABAP / AS Java, I installed AS ABAP
 Enter SAP system id and installation directory
 Enter master password which is going to be used during installation (you can change it if you wise later steps).
 Enter database id as like SAP system id and database type.
 SAP will perform a compatibility and minimum requirement check, click ok to perform the check again or cancel to to proceed next step.
 Next screens you will be asked to provide the location of export files, oracle client and kernel files.


 You will be asked to review your OS users passwords.
 Enter the instance number which is unique across your installation host, by default it will take 00 if its 1st instance installation and you can change it from 00 to 99. 
 System will show you the port number
 After all you will get the parameter summery for all your input and you can verify those values which you gave change it if you want
 During your installation begins you need to enter solution manager key to continue your installation
 Import ABAP step will take 10 to 15 hours based on your system configuration and remaining steps will be completed within 1 to 1.5 hours
