Logical systems playing very
important role in sap system and Here we will see how to create logical system.
BD54 tcode used to create logical
system and you have to follow certain rules while creating the logical system
considering RFC connections, because RFC connection and logical systems are
very important to connect a SAP system/client to another one.
So you have to follow naming convention
as per you company standards and while your creating a logical system and RFC
destinations same name for any client.
I will tell you why you need to do it.
RFC connection is used to
establish a connection between systems but logical systems are used for system
selection during configuration by default sap system will try to connect to
another one based on your RFC destination, so you have to make sure your RFCdestination name and logical system names should be same.
Example:
Instance name: R47
Client: 800
<instance
name>CLNT<no#> i.e R47CLNT800
is my RFC and logical system name.
Instance name,
CLNT and 3 digit client number as naming standard I follow
Let’s see how to create a logical system
below.
1. Go to BD54 tcode and it will pop up
a warning message as it’s a cross client table which will show you a caution to
handle this table
2. Click continue button and switch
to change mode and check is there any logical system name is created for the
client which you are about to create new one
3. Click “New Entries” button and
enter your new logical system name as R47CLNT800 and a short description and
click “Save”
4. While you try to save the entries
in the table it will ask you to create a transport request and click “create
request” button and enter a description for it
5. Now click save and copy the TR
number if you wish to do the same configuration in another system in your
landscape
6. Hit continue button to finish your
logical system creation and you can see your entry is available in the table
Now you have successfully created a
logical system and you can assign it to your client which will be available for
selection ins SCC4 tcode
